Inter has recently confirmed the acquisition, long overdue, unity Wireless Solutions (WLS) of Infineon, a German company for $1.4 billion. This acqusition will allow Inter to continue the expansion in th production of chips for smartphones and mobile devices such as netbooks and tablet.

The acquisition is also very important to Apple that has long avoided in favor of Intel processors. For those Apple devices using the Infineon baseband and now becoming part of Intel will be improved further.

Since 2006, Intel processors are used on all Macs and its therefore it is not impossible that the next iPhone, iPad and iPod touch can rely on any dedicated new Intel product.
